EWB launched the Engineering on Country Program in July 2015. The new program will facilitate improved access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to appropriate engineering services and employment opportunities.

Key aims of the EWB Engineering on Country Program are:

  • Ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have education and career pathway opportunities that lead to meaningful employment within the engineering sector

  • Creating access to the infrastructure and engineering services needed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to meet their aspirations.

EWB volunteers share information about solar technology with Yorta Yorta youth.

EWB recognises in order for these aims to occur, the engineering and education sector also need access to opportunities and resources to develop their skills, understanding and practices in working and engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

EWB will facilitate a collective impact approach involving key stakeholders and ensure all stakeholders work together on a focused agenda.
