Solutions for Sustainable Development Intensives

An immersive and transformative personal and professional learning experience with Australia's leading impact-led, for purpose engineering organisation.

Cultivate the critical professional and personal skills required to be a ‘future-fit’ engineer by immersing yourself in a unique experience informed by the challenges and opportunities of being an adaptable leader in the sector today. Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Australia’s deep understanding of community development practice and social value creation ensures each participant experiences a rich, challenging and empowering learning opportunity.

Not only do participants develop skills that enable them to be future-fit professionals, they also become powerful enablers for local community organisations to expand their network across sectors - building their organisational capability and increasing their opportunity to achieve impact through engaging in the program.

Held over eight days, the program brings together a diverse yet intimate cohort - professional multi-disciplinary teams, local community members, and relevant stakeholders - to participate in a structured learning program, cultural immersion and practical work experience.

Our Intensives are hosted and facilitated by EWB Australia in collaboration with a local community organisation
to achieve real, positive social impact.

There are "definitely a huge range of positive impacts on my professional work because of the experiences I gained during the program.... I am working towards my CPEng chartered status with Engineers Australia and will be using the experiences on this to provide evidence for at least 13/16 competency claims!

I believe my learnings on the program will also help me better understand my client needs, how to ask the right questions and how to help me analyse the problem statements that we are given as engineering consultants, so that I can deliver a better outcome to the client more efficiently and effectively.” - Professional participant, Cambodia 2019 Intensive
