"From East to West, North to South; across exec roles, in schools, with digital access, corporate galvanising, university chapter leadership and work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders – the list goes on. You all go above and beyond, and we are sooo proud and indebted to you all!

Quite simply, the work of EWB could not be done without this foundation of energetic and passionate volunteers. EWB’s aim is to build a global movement for humanitarian engineering, and as volunteers you are the arms and legs of this movement; the movers and shakers at the grass roots; our very heart and soul.

And as we look at the challenges facing our world today, it is clear that the role of volunteering in a community is more important than ever. You are leading the way and having fun doing it! Demonstrating that connecting across divides, addressing inequality, and striving for social impact are not only worthwhile and important things, but also build a wonderful sense of community and camaraderie.

Thank you for what you do, for what you sacrifice, and for the dedication and hard work that you put in. We are all one EWB Australia, so this National Volunteer Week we are shouting out with one voice – Great job and enjoy National Volunteer week !" – Pete
