AgriLab

Assistive technology to support people with disabilities access livelihoods through agriculture.

Location: Pursat, Kampong Speu and Takeo, Cambodia and Yogyakarta, Indonesia.   Status: In Progress

Objective

Improve the ability of people with disability to access agricultural livelihoods through the creation of assistive technology that enables people with a disability to engage in the farming of their choosing.

About the Project

The AgriLab is now in its third year, in partnership with Light For The World.

It aims to work with communities of people with disability in rural areas, to co-design technology that gives them better access to agricultural livelihoods and build their capacity for independent problem solving in the future.

The Agrilab works with a wide range of ages and impairments and has created technologies such as rice seeders for elderly farmers and motorised cassava harvesting carts for mobility impaired farmers.
