Our members and volunteers are the heart of EWB Australia and create a powerhouse of impact.  So our new Member and Volunteer co-ordinators are excited to be on board to support you to have truly positive experience from the moment you first find out about EWB Australia at high school or university, through chapter volunteering and leadership, to engaging with EWB Australia in your professional capacity.

They take pleasure in introducing themselves.

Jacqui Bell, Member and Volunteer Strategy Co-ordinator

" I’ve always loved the energy, enthusiasm and passion I feel from the people I’ve met since being involved with EWB.  I’ve been so inspired by the commitment of members and volunteers and constantly blown away by the achievements and innovation of EWB’s individuals, groups and programs.  I started my EWB journey after visiting a friend on a Field Volunteer placement in Cambodia and his experience and my desire to use my technical and soft skills in a different context led me to also join the Field Placement program basing myself in Vietnam for months. Since my placement I have volunteered on various activities including LinkFest, Alumni co-ordination, storytelling, workshop facilitation and design summits.

In my role as M&V Strategy Co-ordinator I will be working on developing a strategy for what Member and Volunteer Engagement looks like and sets out to achieve in the next – years and how it informs the operational aspects of Member and Volunteer engagement in line with the strategy.  I’m really excited to further map the opportunities and possibilities that an individual can explore on their EWB journey and look forward to working with our members on that piece.

I am a practising Architect, a ‘non-gineer’ in the EWB world and so I’m passionate about supporting, strengthening and building our movement of not only humanitarian engineers but also technical professionals across a broad range of disciplines!"

Tracey Cromby,  Member and Volunteer Strategy Co-ordinator

"There’s no question that the best part of working with EWB Australia is being in the room (or on email, phone, FB, google hangouts, skype, teamwork, what’s app …) with so many truly inspirational people.   I don’t think we realise sometimes just how privileged we are to be alongside genuinely passionate, values-driven, people-centred people doing amazing things and using their skills to create the fairer world that EWB aspires to.

I started with EWB national office in May using my (long) experience in administration to support the delivery of the annual EWB Challenge.   Going to Cameroon in January to work on the Challenge with Reignite Action for Development and seeing the students present their projects at the end of the year were highlights.

Now I’ll be focussing on supporting the operational aspects of our member and volunteer community and looking to make your engagement with EWB a positive capability-enhancing experience."
