Accreditation

EWB is a full member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and complies with the ACFID Code Of Conduct, which prescibes the highest standards of development practise.

EWB is an active member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and complies with the ACFID Code Of Conduct, which sets industry standards for governance, accountability and transparency for non-government development organisations.

The Code represents the active commitment of overseas aid agencies or non government development organisations to conduct their activities with integrity by defining minimum standards of governance, management and accountability. Adherence to the Code is monitored by an independent Code of Conduct Committee, which is elected from the NGO community.

As a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct, EWB is committed to full adherence to the Code’s principles and obligations and implementing good practice in all areas of our work. This includes the ACFID Fundraising Charter

EWB Australia is fully accredited by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trading to receive funding under the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP). To gain accreditation, Australian NGOs demonstrate thorough and independent assessment of their organisational governance structures, philosophies, policies and practices against an agreed set of criteria. Australian NGOs must demonstrate capacity and performance against a range of indicators and may seek accreditation at either Base or Full level. In 2019 EWB Australia was once again granted Full accreditation status, with the next review to be conducted in five years time. Learn more about DFAT accreditation.
