A new exciting opportunity exists to join EWB Australia as Country Manager in Timor-Leste!

The Country Manager (CM) will lead, plan, manage and deliver EWB’s program in Timor-Leste, ensuring EWB’s team in Timor-Leste are well supported, establish strong operational systems and processes, and build on the strategy for EWB’s presence in Timor-Leste.

This role demonstrates leadership through mentoring and coaching the EWB team, with a vision toward being a locally-led organisation (EWB Timor-Leste) within the term of this contract (2 years). This role will work directly with the EWB team ensuring they are well equipped to apply EWB’s principles across all community partners and projects in Timor-Leste, and deliver on organisational and program objectives in line with EWB's Impact Framework to result in positive community impact.

The Country Manager will work closely with the current national Timorese team, who lead EWB’s Professional Skills Development and Women in Engineering programs, as well as a number of technically skilled international volunteers. The CM will work closely with the Community Program team including Technical Advisors and Program Support personnel in the Melbourne office. This role will also liaise with EWB’s other Country program teams in Cambodia and Vanuatu.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Support, manage and further strengthen EWB's program and the capacity of the EWB team in country (including national staff and skilled volunteers) 

2. Lead and establish relevant and donor compliant in-country operational and administrative systems and processes, in line with EWB Australia systems, policies and procedures

3. Support the establishment of the locally led EWB Timor-Leste and EWB Australia country strategies and country operational plan(s), where all initiatives are designed and are implemented in line with EWB’s impact framework with a plan for sustainability, including financial, environmental and social sustainability

4. Grow and maintain mutually beneficial, healthy strategic and operational relationships with community, government, education institutions and private sector partners in Timor-Leste.
