Welcome our new Solutions Development Lead
BlogWelcome our new Solutions Development Lead

Based in Phnom Penh, Andy will be leading the development and application of the EWB solutions design process, supporting our Community Programs team to strengthen applied processes for solutions development.

Andy has a background in mechanical engineering, with experience in process development and product design, teaching at Massey University, and more recently completed his PHD focusing on enhancing human-centred technology development through embedding capacity development into participatory design processes, with field studies in Cambodia working collaboratively with people with disabilities to co-design assistive farming techniques.

Andy is no stranger to EWB, having previously facilitated EWB's Humanitarian Design Summits, coordinated the EWB Design Challenge, as well as being instrumental in developing EWB's design process. Andy is also the Contributing Editor of Engineering For Change. The creation of this role is an exciting development for EWB as we focus on evolving a robust, human-centred design process that will improve appropriateness of community solutions and outcomes.

Andy takes up this new post in May 2019.

Our people and programs in Cambodia are supported by ANCP and Australia Aid.
