Location: , Anywhere
Applications close 30th October 2010
Are you from India, Sri Lanka or Nepal or do you have a great grasp of the language? Do you want to support developing communities back in your native country, from Australia? EWB are looking at supporting our community partners and volunteers by providing reports and resources in local languages.
In many instances our volunteers are spending time on producing fantastic materials that are limited in their use simply because they are not accessible because of language barriers for those in need.
EWB are looking for:
- A co-ordinator who is responsible for receiving requests from our volunteers and disseminating to their Translation Team and ensuring translation are completed as required
- Team members to complete the translations.
You might be tranlsating a manual, a presentation or something simple like a newsletter article. So it is not only a great way to use your bi (or tri!) lingual skills but learn about development issues too.
If you are interested in these roles and providing occassional translations, please contact Ian Cunningham at the National Office on info@ewb.org.au detailing the languages spoken and how much time you can commit. Time commitment is demands driven; however, it should require less than 5 hours per month and all work will be done remotely so no need to travel!

I am from Nepal. I am obsiously fluent in Nepalese and good in Hindi/Urdu. Let me know if you need help. I am a full time employee here in Tassie but can surely spend more than 5 hours a month no problem at all. I am a new member of EWB and always wanted to help community based projects around the world. Let me know if I can help EWB, Australia as I am going to Nepal in the last week of September 2010 for about 7 weeks.
Thanks.
Prakash
