Want to get more involved in the areas of EWB that interest you most? This new site has been built to inform you better and make it easier for you to contribute to making positive change through our awesome programs.
Apart from looking great, this site is a full blown Web 2.0 application designed to give you all the tools you need to get involved in all aspects of our operations. So with so much on offer, how can you launch yourself right into it?
If you are a member of a chapter, visit the chapter page and click through to your chapter. At the top right corner of the page, you'll see a 'join this chapter' link. Click it and you're joined up! Easy! As a member of the chapter, you can now receive instant updates, daily digests or subscribe to RSS feeds so you're never out of the loop on what your chapter is up to. You'll be told of any new announcements, events, resources, discussions and even volunteer opportunities! Contribute your thoughts by placing comments and communicate with your fellow EWBers.
So what if you're not a member of a chapter? In this new website we are introducing Knowledge Hubs, which are just like chapters, but rather than being location specific, are theme based. If your interests lie in water & sanitation, energy, development practices or any of the themes we offer, you can join them just as easily as chapters... and you get to keep in touch and contribute exactly the same way!
Finally, Initiatives are the actual programs and partners that we work with to achieve our mission of improving the quality of life of those in disadvantaged communities. All of our initiatives have their own pages too and work the same way as knowledge hubs and chapters. Join up and jump in!
At anytime you want a snapshot of whats going on in your groups, log in and check your dashboard (its the link in the top right corner of the page). It delivers a live feed of all the action going on in your groups and is a launching platform into get right into it!
