Workplace Giving

What Is Workplace Giving?

A Workplace Giving Program allows you to contribute regular donations through your employee’s payroll system from your pre-tax income and directly support the programs and work of Enginners Without Borders Australia.

Workplace Giving can create a feeling of community within your organisation, and allows your company the chance to acknowledge and support your staffs interest in sustainable development and appropriate technology.

What are the benefits?

Giving Workplace Giving can create a feeling of community within your office, and allows your company the chance to support and showcase the outside interests of your staff.

Individual worker philanthropy - Workplace Giving offers employees an affordable way to donate to non profit organisations. Donating in this way is easy, convenient and tax effective.

The benefits include:

  • involvement with their local community,
  • confidence that their donations make a difference,
  • donations are tax effective.

Corporate social responsibility and more - Workplace Giving offers employers an opportunity to build community partnerships and boost employee morale. Low on cost and administration, a program can be a significant source of funding. It motivates and engages employees while improving staff retention.

Workplace Giving employers say programs:

  • advance corporate leadership and community impact,
  • put corporate social responsibility and values into action,
  • strengthen employee recruitment, loyalty and retention levels,
  • build constructive non profit relationships,
  • require only basic payroll administration and are cost effective.

How does it work?

Workplace giving is a simple, tax efficient and cost efficient way to donate to EWB. Donations are made from pre-tax pay, which is reduced by the amount of the donation – meaning that the tax deduction is immediate and guaranteed. There is no need to collect, keep and claim receipts – it couldn't be easier!

So a $20 donation pre tax costs the donor only $13.70 after the automatic tax deduction, but EWB receives the full $20 (assuming a marginal tax rate of 32.5%).

Staff members will be sent our quarterly newsletter ‘Momentum’ and will be updated on the impact of their contribution is making.

Your organisation will recieve a thank you certificate at the end of the year.
