Engaging Students

Engaging Students

EWB's mission resonates with aspiring young engineers. The organisation has grown rapidly to over 5000 members in just over seven years and the majority of its members are university students or young engineers in the first few years of their professional careers.

The EWB Challenge aims to engage students in learning for sustainable development. EWB will support the engagement process with a range of activities:

  • Consultation on the incorporation of the EWB Challenge into the first year curriculum.
  • Delivery of presentations to students on EWB and the 2010 design brief.
  • Coordination of university participation and communication via the EWB Challenge website.
  • Promotion of EWB Challenge events, resources and appropriate technologies via the EWB Challenge e-Newsletter.
  • Coordination of regionally-based show case events for participating students to display their designs, meet other participating students and learn more about EWB programs.
  • Profiles of the Outstanding Achievement teams in a special EWB Challenge awards booklet for distribution at the annual conference of Engineers Without Borders Australia.
