Dialogues Pre-work Requirements
Prior to participating in a Dialogues on Development program you need to complete the activities outlined below. These activities are designed to help you understand the context you will be entering and support your learnign whilst in country.
Pre-reading for Workshops
Participants will be expected to read the following attachments prior to participation in the Dialogues on Development program. These pre-reading materials will be utilised in some of the workshops throughout the program. This pre-reading is the first task of the pre-wrok activites identified below.

Pre-work Activities
Within each program you havve been assigned a number of tasks you need to complete prior to your participation. The requirements vary between programs and are outlined in the attachments below. These activities are designed to increase your knowledge prort to arrival in coutnry and assist in your engagement with the facilitators and other participants.

Trip Expectations
Prior to departure all participants are expected to upload a brief reflection of their expectations for the trip to be shared with the other Dialogues Participants.
To do this you will need to become a member of the Dialogues page (www.ewb.org.au/dialogues) click join group in the top right hand corner. Once approved as a member you will be able to post a discussion on the Dialogues page which will be shared with all the other members of the program.
This is an important reflection activity and will be provided back to you at the end of the program so you can determine if the program met your expectations and also how your expectations might have changed as a result of your participation.

Dialogues Preparations
Before leaving for the Dialogues program there are a number of items you should have in order. Including police and medical clearance, insurance, and submission of the correct forms.
Passport Photocopy
If you are participating in either the Cambodia or India Dialogues program you will need to email us a photocopy of your passport including your date of birth, gender, and passport number.
Police Clearance
Before participating in any of the Dialogues on Development Programs you will need to undergo a National Police Check.

Visa Details
If you are travellign overseas you will need a visa. You can apply online for a visa through Visa Link www.visalink.com.auMedical Approval to travel
You will need to visit your travel doctor and get his approval for you to travel.

Dialogues Post Participation Information
Now that you have returned from the Dialogues program you have the opportunity to share these experiences within your regions. This is a great way to not only build other peopels awareness but also help you to articulate what you have learnt on the program and wish to take away. Below we have detailed some ways that you cna do this.
Trip Experience
Two weeks after your trip you are expected to write a brief trip experience and uplaod it to the EWB website. This report can then be used in other outlets such as any internal orgnaisational newseltters, shared with local chapters and provided to media outlets. This is a great way to articulate what you have learnt from participation in the Dialogues on Development program.
EWB also expect you to provide two high resolution photos about your experience to the National office. These photos can be sent to Katie Blundy (k.blundy@ewb.org.au). These pictures will be used by the media team to promote future trips and EWB activities.
Engage your local Chapter
You can contact your local chapter through the EWB website by following the link below:
Through this engagement you can participate in presations about your dialogues experience, participate in local initatives or find outlets for other opportunites you woudl like to explore.
Create or engage with Corporate Interest Groups
If you are interested in setting up an interest group within your organisation or to be connected with the existing interest groups you can contact EWB's Corporate Partnership Manager Sunny Oliver-Bennetts. Interest groups are an excellent way to build momentum within your orgnaisation and deepen the engagement between your orgnaisation and the communities you engaged as part of the Dialogues program.
Professional Recognition
The Dialogues on Development program can be utilised towards Continuing Professional Development or towards Chartered status with Engineers Australia.
Recognition of Dialouges on Development for continuing professional development is under the category of of volunteer activities where you can log up to 100 hours.
You can write a career episode report to fulfill one or more of the criteria for Chatered Stutus. EA are currently revising the Professional Engineerign Competencies so each individual will need to review these prior to writting their career episode rpeort to ensure it is valid. Your program facilitator can sign off on your career episode report once complete.
