New Foot for Chhouk the Elephant
The Cambodian School of Prosthetics and Orthotics was approached with an unusual request - to build and fit a prosthetic foot for Chhouk, a young endangered Asian elephant.

One of EWB's first projects in 2004 involved EWB volunteers assisting CSPO facilitate a Mechanics and Biomechanics Bridging Course for CSPO students.
EWB volunteers will assist CSPO by facilitating the maths and mechanics course which commences in October 2009. This course is taught to student from a range of low-income counties as part of their training program in prosthetics and orthotics.
Goal of the SLSPO is to become the National Training Centre for the education of Prosthetist - Orthotists. Students are taught how to prescribe, manufacture and fit prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (braces), to International standards. The course consists of two years practical and academic training plus one year supervised clinical placement.
