In partnership with Kaiadilt Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) & Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT), EWB has been working together on the Bentinck Island Backyard Blitz project since 2008. The project is now in its third stage and the partnership with the locals had lead to mutual respect and a two way learning and sharing of cultures.

Backyard Blitz I
In 2008, a team of EWB, CAT and KAC members worked together and successfully completed Backyard Blitz I, which saw the construction of an amenities block and kitchen shelter. The outcomes from this project go far beyond the built structure with the development of new relationships, skills and knowledge shared between all parties, and a strong shared pride in what was achieved.
