Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program

The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (RWSSP) works with poor communities in Timor Leste to plan, deliver and maintain water distribution and sanitation infrastructure, including for schools and health clinics and promote improvements to hygiene behaviour. The program commenced in September 2007, is AusAID funded and sees the Timor Leste Government partnered with NGOs and communities in need.

PhD Opportunity in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

The main study is a cluster-randomised trial asking whether adding a Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) process increases the effectiveness of a programme. The PhD candidate will be enrolled at the Nossal Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne.
