The Lama Lama people are the traditional owners for lands extending for several hundred kilometres around Princess Charlotte Bay on the east coast of the Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland. In 2009, the Lama Lama Lands Trust (LLLT) worked with the Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) to assist the Lama Lama people outline what they would like to see happen on their traditional country. EWB has begun to work with CAT and LLLT to help achieve their vision.

Pete visits Lama Lama to investigate water
It’s quite a trek from Newcastle to Port Stewart, about 3000kms in fact. But the opportunity to share in the journey of the Lama Lama people in the development of their community hub is certainly an exciting one for the Pete McArdle and the Newcastle Chapter.
