EWB chapters around Australia are hosting one and two day workshops called "Pathways to Working with Developing Communities". These interactive workshops provide an excellent opportunity for EWB members to learn more about EWB and explore opportunities to engage in work with communities.
EWB School Outreach activities engage school students and teachers in interactive workshops on sustainable development and engineering. The workshops are designed to inspire and motivate students to explore issues such as global sustainability, human development, appropriate technology the role of engineering in poverty eradication.
The EWB Undergraduate Research Program allows EWB to work collaboratively with community partners, universities and research institutions to assist communities, provide students with real world experience, and build the capacity of all partners.

The Sydney University Chapter works closely with the other universities in Sydney and the Professional chapter.
The UTS Chapter serves as a forum for meeting like-minded UTS students and staff as well as providing a hub for accessing opportunities to:

- Contribute your research skills toward the EWB challenge or a thesis with impact
- Embark on one of our annual expeditions to gain first hand development experience
