Executive Team

How the Executive Team works

The executive team is made up a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and other general executive members.
We work with our members to run chapter activies which may be anything from a social get-together to a public forum! We are also the 'entry point' for RMIT students to become part of the wider EWB community.
RMIT EWB works with other EWB Chapters, especially those in Victoria - the Melb Uni, Swinburne, Monash and Vic Professional chapters.

I am in the fourth year of a double degree in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering and International Studies and am currently the president of the RMIT chapter of EWB. Last year I served as the vice-president of the chapter.

Joining EWB in 2009, I have been involved in a range of projects and events including the SAGES and Broadmeadows Disability Services local projects. I was a recipient of the EWB-RMIT Development Scholarship for the 2009/2010 program where I spent three months working with Habitat for Humanity Vietnam as a civil engineering intern.

I like to cook and I am a keen amateur brewer and bread maker.

I am currently completing a Civil Engineering/International Studies double degree and have been involved with the RMIT Chapter since 2010, when I took over the role of Secretary. I found getting involved with the Chapter to be great fun, a useful source of networking and a great chance to hone your communication skills; overall a rewarding experience.
This year, I look forward to working alongside Jesse and the team as Vice-President to help grow and develop the RMIT Chapter, and also working with the broader EWB community on the exciting initiatives happening in 2011.

I’m in my third year of an environmental engineering degree and got involved with EWB after participating in the EWB Challenge in 2009.  As well as secretary for the chapter I’m the EWB Challenge co-ordinator for RMIT. I also work as a vollie at the national office on the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander program.

In 2010/2011 I was a recipient of the EWB-RMIT Development Scholarship and spent three months in Vietnam working with Habitat for Humanity. In my “spare” time I try to keep up a yoga practice and I’m a volunteer with the SES.

I’m very much looking forward to working with everyone on the RMIT team and with the broader EWB community this year - the Year of Humanitarian Engineering

I am currently undertaking my third year in my Civil Engineering degree, and I am excited to begin my first year as Treasurer for the RMIT Chapter of EWB. Specializing in geotechnical and structural engineering, I hope to gain entry in to the construction industry once I graduate.

I spend my spare time creating cartoons and I am an avid illustrator; I have also recently taken up painting on the side. I love jazz music, and my favourite artist is Hiromi Uehara who is a phenomenal pianist.

I have been involved with the Broadmeadows Disability Service project since joining in late 2010, and I look forward to broadening my participation within EWB in 2011.

I am in the fourth and final year of the Civil and Infrastructure Engineering degree at RMIT and have just stepped into the role of Local Projects coordinator for the year 2011, I joined in 2010 as a project leader for the Broadmeadows Disability Service Project.

EWB have proved to be an excellent networking tool for me with the professional engineers and gained great amounts of advice and knowledge from many individuals currently working as engineers.

I beleive that the RMIT chapter of EWB has the potential to grow enormously which is my goal to make happen, so that other can can also gain the experience and enjoyment which EWB continues to provide for me.

I love the outdoors, my passions being rock climbing, surfing and fishing.

I am in my third year of civil engineering and this is my first year as PR officer for the RMIT chapter of EWB. I am focusing on becoming a geotechnical engineer but when I’m not doing that I play basketball and go to my beach house to pretend there are no assignments for uni. I think this will be the chapter’s greatest year and look forward meeting all associates of the club.
