An old African proverb notes that if you want to go far, you must go together – this sits well with EWB as we know that if we want to make lasting sustainable change in disadvantaged communities, it needs to be a collective effort!
EWB is incredibly proud of what we, our volunteers, partners and supporters, have managed to accomplish thus far, and can only imagine the change we can create if we continue to do it together.
Here’s a sneak peak of what we’ve been up to …
Working in long term partnership with Kooma country in South East Queensland, the community now has a solar powered homestead to facilitate return to country – an aspiration identified by community.
EWB has designed floating toilets for the community living on the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia with the waste to be converted to energy for cooking and heating, through a bio-digester!
EWB has developed a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education program assisting with health check-ups to improve safety for children that play and live in the Santulan stone quarry in India.
Five students from the University of Adelaide are taking an innovative approach to a major health issue – developing a low-smoke stove that uses dung as a fuel source for deforested areas of Nepal.
You can support us in this journey by making a donation to EWB as part of the ‘Go far, go together’ campaign here …
Your donation will make it possible for EWB to resource our programs and expand our reach – all while being a small giant!
