In March of 2009, the ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) and Engineers Without Borders Australia launched a new University Partnership. The new partnership, only the second EWB University Partnership nation-wide, builds upon previous joint activities over the last couple of years. The Partnership provides a framework for further engagement between CECS and EWB and new opportunites for students.
The Partnership oversees numerous activities including:
- The EWB Challenge, which is delivered through the first year course Discovering Engineering.
- EWB Undergraduate Research Scholarships for final year honours students.
- School Outreach Program which delivers workshops to school students to raise awareness of sustainable development issues.
- Conducting activities and having stalls at numerous university events throughout the year, including ANU Open Day, the CECS Careers Fair, and Celebrate Sustainability Day.
- Identifying new initiatives for the future.
