From humble beginnings back in 1971, the City to Surf has grown to be the must-do footrace in Australia and the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Celebrating its 40th year, this event is open to all ages and levels of fitness it attracts equal numbers of men and women.
Since the inaugural event, just on one million entrants have run the distance to Bondi, some stopping off at all the watering holes along the way. This iconic run is a must for all sydneysiders!

HIGHEST FUNDRAISER PRIZES: $10,000 DONATION TO CHARITY.
As part of the Charity Challenge, The Sun-Herald will donate an extra $10,000 each to the chosen charity of the highest fundraising individual and team.
Thanks to Mitsubishi, any City2Surf runner who raises over $200 for charity this year can enter to win a brand new Mitsubishi ASX - the City-Sized SUV. To enter, participants have to say in 25 words or less which charity they are supporting and why. Answers are e-mailed to city2surf@fairfax.com.au, with name, address and contact number.
