Industry Forum for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders
Posted by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program
Tuesday 26th October 2010
Location: Melbourne , VIC (View map)
The objective of these new forums is to develop the capacity of the engineering industry to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through sharing ideas, resources and experiences. In particular focusing on:
- Becoming an employer of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Effective recruitment
- Implementing successful training and education programs
- Engaging in meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
We’re holding a breakfast on the 26th Oct to find out what’s already happening within the industry and find out what people would most like to get out of forums such as these. To do this, we’d like to have a panel session with our Corporate Partners asking each panel member to share their organisation’s vision for engagement with Indigenous Australians, key initiatives, success and major challenges. Well then have an open question session.
