For project 6 at the university of engineering we are designing a renewable energy source - solar thermal. However I can see there is already a renewable system in place (the solar voltaic setup). Does this mean were designing something which is not needed or have i missed something?

Hi, is there any information about what types of materials/supplies are locally available for the different projects?

For my team's project we have chosen to design a fish feeding cage. Is it viable to use the waterhole as place to stock fish and feed them and what fish currently inhabit this waterhole? Also, does the waterhole have current or traditional uses.

Hey, for project 5 at UQ is about designing an engery efficient ventilation system. I was just wondering what are the education levels of the Kooma people and is there any useful resources they currently have toward an underground mine on site?

hi my group is designing a fish feeding cage - we were wondering what fish we are trying to breed; is it the carp or the other (native and better tasting) fish in the area? also is the project asking for simply a cage or a whole system? we have asked our lecturer but we didnt get a conclusive answer
we would also be interested in finding out about the soil in the area.
thanks

Thanks Dean

I posted the following question on the announcements page under some questions from other participants but I thought I would post them again here because they haven't been answered yet.
My team is doing the cage to feed fish and there are a few questions we haven't been able to find the answer to.
- What species of fish are there in Nebine Creek and the waterhole? (we know there are carp and yellow bellies, is there anything else)
- How deep is the waterhole? (We read that it was 4m but we don't know if this is 4m long, wide or deep.)
- What do the Kooma people do with the carcasses from hunting? (this will greatly help us in determining the way the dead animals will be fed to the fish)
- Where do the Kooma people get their drinking water supply from? (we read that they use both bore water and surface water, is their main source the waterhole?)
Thanks.

The Design Brief states that the quarterly bills for each property are coming out at about $6000 each. Can you please provide data on how much actual energy the properties use? It's difficult to halve the bill if we don't know how much energy the properties get for their $12000.

Hi Guys,
Our group has chosen two design areas to work on but unfortunately we are missing two key bits of information. These bits of information will give us the ability to estimate the costs involved with a higher degree of accuracy.
Firstly, What is the approximate length of Murra Murra road, between the Balonne Highway turn off and the entrance to the Bendee Downs property?
And secondly, How many metres deep are the banks of the Nebine River at the existing crossing? And what is the maximum depth the river reaches during the year?
