Campaigns To Support

EWB's vision is of a world where every individual and community has adequate access to the resources, knowledge and technology necessary to meet their self identified human needs.

Achieving this vision requires the support of active global citizens to secure a more equal and sustainable future. In pursuit of this goal EWB works to raise awareness among our members of the ways in which they can have an impact on individual, local, national and international level.

Reconciliation Action Plan

EWB's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is an organisation-wide strategy, approved by Reconciliation Australia, that works towards our vision for a reconciled Australia.

Engineers Without Borders' vision for a reconciled Australia is of a nation whose past is acknowledged, shared, taught and understood both as a common history and a contemporary reality. We look in hope to seeing a nation that celebrates the wide variety, complexity and value of the many cultures of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We envisage a future Australia in which Indigenous and non-Indigenous people are proud of having worked together to overcome the inequalities currently experienced by Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples in terms of life expectancy, health, education, meaningful employment, justice and self-determination."

EWB National Conference

The EWB Conference is a hub of learning and inspiration. Delegates will hear from the most exciting and innovative people working in situations where community development and appropriate design intersect.

It is a Question of Access

What do engineers actually do? From outside the industry, perhaps the most common answer is that engineers build bridges. At Engineers Without Borders (EWB) we see a lot of merit in this explanation.  read more >>

Climate Control

EWB recognizes that the human impact of climate change has the potential to undermine the value added by sustainable human development programs. Quality development work needs to address the roots causes of a problem rather than simply treating the symptoms. Therefore it is imperative that EWB works towards securing a stable environment in which communities can address their development needs.

EWB also recognizes the important role engineers have to play within the developed world to ensure that our resources are used wisely. EWB believes that passionate and committed individuals within the engineering profession are a key to achieving real change in public understanding, policy and practice.
