SUPER CHAPTER DINNER
The NSW chapter dinner provides an opportunity for new members (or dormant members!) to informally meet members from chapters across the Sydney region. If youre already a member of an existing chapter or team, these dinners can provide a space to trade notes and bounce around that wild idea you hatched last night.
The next chapter dinner is scheduled to be held at Little Haveli, which features one of the tastiest South Indian Thalis outside Tamil Nadu.
19th July 2010 at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM
Location: Little Haveli, 153 Broadway, Ultimo , NSW

WASH KNOWLEDGE HUB MEETING
Students and professionals with an interest in remotely contributing their research skills and expertise to water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives are encouraged to join the EWB NSW WASH Knowedge Hub.
The EWB NSW WASH Knowledge Hub is currently responding to technical challenges arising from the Tonle Sap Floating Toilet Project- a project delivering latrines to floating communities around the Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia. More
The team meets monthly at the Parsons Brinckerhoff office in the Ernst & Young building in Sydney (meet at the lobby at 6 or call Jonathan). Volunteers unable to attend in person can contribute via phone or online For further information contact Jonathan Ho on 0422 475 897 or contact EWB NSW on nsw@ewb.org.au
20th July 2010 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Location: Parsons Brinckerhoff, Level 27, Ernst & Young Centre, 680 George Street, Sydney, NSW, http://www.ewb.org.au/events/75/10410

NSW CHAPTER MEETING
The NSW Chapter Meeting is an opportunity for the committee to assess progress across our various teams (knowledge hubs, local initiatives, education, awareness etc) and address any strategic or operational challenges or opportunities that arise (e.g. volunteer resources, communications, finance etc). After the meeting the committee typically adjourns for dinner and drinks at a nearby pub.
All chapter members are encouraged to come along, learn a bit more about how EWB works and meet our fantastic team of volunteers. Contact the chapter (nsw@ewb.org.au) if youd like to come along and well forward an agenda to you.
27th July 2010 at 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM
Location: Institute for Sustainable Futures, Level 11, UTS Building 10, 235 Jones Street, Ultimo , NSW

Amanda’s thoughts from National Council.
The value of collecting like-minded, passionate people together in one room cannot be underestimated, and the gathering for the National Council 2010 was certainly testament to that fact. Topics such as National Conference, 2011 Year of Humanitarian Engineering and the Regional & Chapter updates frequented the agenda, as did the celebration and anticipation of local initiatives.
With over 70 chapter representatives bouncing ideas off each other and feeding off the collective enthusiasm of the group, ideas began to flow thick and fast. Key points included:
- Chapter Collaborations
- Nationally
- Regionally
- Within the chapter
- External Relations with Donor and Corporate Partners
- Fundraising ideas and summary
- Finance summary and budget
- Workshops relating to a variety of areas that EWB addresses, including:
- Engaging Indigenous Communities
- Working with cross cultural communities
- Local Projects
- Appropriate technology
- Governance and the role of the EWB Board
- Forum made up of board members as the panel
