The Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) have a fantastic new work opportunity - Technical Project Officer in Cairns.  EWB does a lot of work with CAT and they always seem to be working on wonderful projects in beautiful places with inspiring Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander communities.  And the staff are great fun too. 

The Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) is committed to supporting sustainable
livelihoods in Indigenous communities through appropriate technologies. We work in
the field of training, research, project and program management and delivery, product
development, community development and planning.

We are a dynamic organisation looking for an enthusiastic and capable person to join
our Regional Team as:
SENIOR TECHNICAL AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICER, CAIRNS.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical knowledge and experience in
practical and positive ways to support indigenous communities. Technical literacy,
relevant tertiary qualifications and an understanding and appreciation of community
development processes and practices are required.

Key responsibilities include:-
• Delivering a program of technical advice to communities in North
Queensland (inc Cape York, The Gulf and Western Queensland).
• Managing a range of community infrastructure and development projects.
• Facilitating the growth of activities undertaken by CAT in the region.

A high level of individual initiative and flexibility, and the capacity to lead and
coordinate project teams is required. The position will involve extensive travel. The
salary range of up to $60,000.00 plus salary sacrifice is negotiable depending on
qualifications etc.
