Pathways Workshops
The “Pathways” workshops aim to facilitate EWB member education in engineering practice in community development.
Posted by Lizzie Brown to Pathways to Working with Developing Communities Workshops, 14th July 2009, 5:40am
Objectives:
- Identify pathways to working with developing and/or disadvantaged communities.
- Provide an opportunity for EWB members and community development professionals to meet, collaborate and learn.
- Support individuals to identify personal motivations for being involved in EWB and/or development engineering.
- Encourage individuals to identify personal skills, leadership skills and skills deficit and provide ideas for ‘bridging the gap’.
Training Methodology Participatory training methods are used, including group exercises, discussion panels and scenario-based learning. These workshops are designed to assist participant’s professional development and leadership skills. Many of the skills developed will be of benefit to individuals and their employers in other areas of the participant’s career.
