The 2009 EWB Challenge Awards ceremony was held on the 28th of November. The six Outstanding Achievement Teams presented their designs and the following awards were given:

2009 EWB Challenge Overall Champion Award - University of Western Australia – “Biodigestion in Cambodia”


2009 BHP Billiton Award for Sustainable Design and Appropriate Technology - Curtin University – “Integrated Bamboo Catchment and Filtration System

 

EWB Challenge Poster Award - Flinders University – “Floating Land Project“

  • Edith Cowan University – “Water Filtration”
  • Curtin University – “Communal Anchored Storm Protection Attachments for Houses”

We would like to congratulate all participating teams and supervisors for your contribution to the EWB Challenge and our work with communities. Student projects and ideas will be communicated to Live & Learn over the coming months. EWB supports further consideration of all the projects as potential concepts for development and possible implementation in the future. Project updates will be provided in 2010 through the EWB Challenge website.
