2010 Murra Murra team - Pre trip update
The Melbourne Water/EWB Murra Murra Team of 2010 has been hard at work over the last months in preparation for their trip to South West Queensland from 13th – 29th Aug.

The team consists of five new people – Kim Lambie, Emma Taunt, Ben Johnston, Keiran Croker and David Carew, and 3 who were involved last year; Rob Dabal, Nicky Kindler & Julie Bright. Everyone has done the training and put in a great deal of work for what should be an amazing experience.
Their trip aims to build on the successes of the partnership to date, and includes the following:
- Community carp fishing day. There has been a big leap forward in terms of community engagement with the involvement of Kim and Emma
- Story collection (led by Emma Taunt)
- Waterway and wetland assessments of (Led by Rob and David, with assistance from all - to continue to inform our joint decisions with the Kooma people on what the high priority assets are to protect)
- Water infrastructure data capture – Ben Johnston has come up with GPS proformas to allow efficient capture of this data
- Implementation of joint KTOAI and MW Federal Grant (Caring for Country) project to protect a high value wetland from the effects of feral pigs
- Identification of another Caring for Country project to be applied for this year
