Dear Marilyn,
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and the Bana Yarralji Bubu Aboriginal Corporation for your generous and inspiring input into EWB’s Indigenous Australia Program. Earlier this year EWB received a Highly Commended in the Queensland Govt 2010 Reconciliation Awards for Business and we recognise that we couldn’t have achieved this without such amazing partners as you.
Reconciliation is the key to EWB’s vision and at the forefront of everything we try to achieve through our Indigenous Australia Program. This vision is made possible by the commitment of the Indigenous community organisations and people we partner with. You and the other ranges at Shiptons Flat have certainly played a huge role in this through your warm and generous welcome of our volunteers when visiting your country. It was also through your trip down to our conference in Melbourne where you ran that amazing cross cultural workshop and spent time with conference delegates. These actions have a real positive impact on the EWB volunteers and community and through this we have begun to see changes within the engineering industry.
So, I’d like to thank you again, on behalf of EWB, for your generosity of spirit in our partnership and for being such an important part of our reconciliation journey. Could you please pass my thanks on to others that have been involved too, especially Naomi and Keiran who also came to Melbourne and have become EWB legends!
I’m really looking forward to continuing our wonderful partnership and hoping you’ll be able to make it down for our conference again at the end of Nov this year.
Kind regards,
Lizzy Skinner
